Porter Robinson recently announced that he is releasing an album, Nurture, this year under his name; the first album as Porter Robinson in six years. His last album under Porter Robinson was Worlds which debuted in 2014 and was widely acclaimed in the industry. He has not been completely dormant in that time though. In late 2016 to early 2017 he went on tour with Madeon to debut their Shelter Live Tour. Then he came out under a new moniker, Virtual Self and released an EP of the same name.
The first single to be released off Nurture was released January 29th, 2020 entitled 'Get Your Wish.' Artists and fans alike have had nothing but praise for the release and what is to come with the album set to release sometime this year. The electronic side of Twitter absolute went crazy over the release and the news of the upcoming album. Chet Porter even added to the windstorm of tweets:
All humor aside, Porter Robinson attached a very heartfelt message to the release of 'Get Your Wish.' According to him, he was lost for a few years in the creative journey and the pressure of needing to release music. A sentiment discussed and understood throughout the industry by artists. He talks about a breakthrough that happened and how 'Get Your Wish' captures that breakthrough in music. Check out what he wrote below and stream the single.
