Fundraising Friday
As part of this ongoing journey, the last Friday of each month will be dedicated to fundraising updates. It’s a way for us to connect and for me to keep you in the loop on the impact we’re making—together.
If you’re new here, stumbled in by accident, or just passing through—welcome! A quick catch-up: In 2025, I’ll begin a journey to complete the 7 Abbott World Marathon Majors. I went sober, started running to face my anxieties head-on, and somehow fell in love with the challenge of it all.
Some marathons require fast qualifying times or luck in a lottery entry—but there’s another way to run: through charity bibs. I applied to run with some amazing organizations, and to my absolute shock, I was accepted into two of the seven majors so far.
🏁 RBC Brooklyn Half Marathon – Team for Kids
(Surprise Half-Marathon Drop!)
I snuck this one in—but it’s coming up fast on May 17! Team for Kids is an incredible organization supported by the New York Road Runners. They empower youth across the country by providing free running programs, boosting confidence, and building stronger, more active communities.
I’m just $95 away from hitting my $750 goal.Your support will directly impact youth development and physical health in under-resourced communities.
🗽 NYC Marathon – Tackle Kids Cancer
I was beyond elated to be accepted to run the 2025 NYC Marathon with Tackle Kids Cancer.
This one hits very close to home—as a childhood cancer survivor, supporting pediatric cancer research is personal. I was stunned to learn that only ~4% of the national cancer research budget goes toward pediatric cancers. That’s why this partnership matters.
While the fundraising campaign hasn’t officially launched yet, the goal is $5,000—and I’ll be sharing the link the moment it’s live. Get ready. :)
🇯🇵 Tokyo Marathon – American Cancer Society
This one came in right under the wire—I applied for the Tokyo Marathon on a whim, right before the deadline. And somehow… I got in. Cue the fainting.
The American Cancer Society has been part of my story for years. During my own cancer journey, they provided critical support for my family and me. I’ve fundraised with Relay for Life since high school, and being part of their Tokyo DetermiNation team feels like a full-circle moment.
Funds raised go toward:
Transportation to/from treatment
Housing for patients and families
Groundbreaking cancer research
The goal is $9,600, with $4,800 due by August 1. I know—with your support, creative fundraising, and sponsorship help—we’ll get there.
If you made it this far… I owe you a cookie. Seriously, tell me when you see me.
I’m so grateful for your support on this journey. I’m inspired, I’m eager, and I’m challenging myself to something far bigger than me.
You are loved. You matter. And your support is making a real impact.
Stay Vibrant, my friends. 💛
